This app will provide your child with phonemic awareness skills.

Research shows that phonemic awareness is a powerful predictor of success in learning to read (Stanovich, 1986; 1993; Share & Stanovich, 1995).

Letter-Free Phonics aims to assist in developing fundamental reading skills for your child. This application aids in honing your child's ability to listen to and differentiate sounds at the beginning of words. An example of this would be the child recognizing that the /b/ sound is found at the start of the words ball, bat, and balloon.

By engaging with and mastering the activities in this app, your child can establish neural pathways in their brain associated with sound recognition. Upon being introduced to printed letters, your child will already be familiar with the primary sound produced by each letter. This facilitates the learning of the alphabet compared to scenarios lacking phonemic instruction.

The app's title was purposely selected to highlight that it does not incorporate letters. Instead, its focus lies on aiding children in developing crucial pre-letter phonemic awareness skills. Only the sounds of the letters are utilized in this app and never the letters or their names.
