Abu Dawud Sulaiman ibn al-Ash'ath al-Azdi al-Sijistani, known as Imam Abu Dawud, was a Persian Islamic scholar. He compiled the Hadith collection Sunan Abu Dawud, considered one of the Kutub al-Sittah and highly esteemed among Sunni scholars. Sunan Abu Dawud is one of Islam's most sacred six Hadith collections, also known as Kutub al-Sittah. It is primarily a compilation of Hadiths done by Abu Dawud himself.
