KAKERU PLUS is an educational application designed to help elementary school students improve their Japanese language writing skills and vocabulary. Supervised by Hiroaki Koizumi, the director of Koizumi Language School, the app offers original content developed from actual junior high school entrance exam questions, allowing for a structured learning progression.

  • Learn the tips for writing through 5-minute videos:
    The content is broken down into 30 easy-to-follow steps. Videos allow for repeated viewing to address any confusion.
  • Practice writing problems:
    After watching the videos, students can tackle writing exercises that deepen their understanding. Hints are provided to assist them in completing the tasks. The iPad version allows students to write answers directly on the screen using an Apple Pencil, while the iPhone version supports quick text input via a keyboard.
  • Self-assessment:
    Detailed grading criteria empower students to assess their own work independently.
  • Review and repetition solidify writing skills:
    Accessing past answers through answering history makes reviewing easy.
• Vocabulary Training
  • Learn 1,600 commonly used vocabulary words from past exams in order of frequency:
    Customizable question settings aid in effective vocabulary retention. Contextual example sentences drawn from frequent examination themes build thematic comprehension.
  • Test your vocabulary comprehension rigorously:
    All 1,600 words are presented randomly within a time limit. Students can retry until they achieve their best scores, with three incorrect attempts marking the end of a session.

• Payment Method: Charges will be applied via your registered iTunes account with automatic renewal on a monthly basis.
• Automatic Renewal Details: If you do not cancel more than 24 hours prior to the end date of your subscription, it will automatically renew for another month. Charges will occur within the final 24 hours before the renewal period begins.
• Subscription Status Check and Cancellation Method: You can verify your subscription status and opt out of automatic renewal through:

  Similar checks can also be made from iTunes. Even after cancellation, you can continue using the service until the end date. Please note that cancellations for the purchased month cannot be processed.

About the Supervisor

Hiroaki Koizumi was born in Tokyo in 1956. He graduated from Toho High School and Keio University before obtaining an MBA from Sul Ross State University in the USA. After opening a university preparatory school and private tutoring center, he established Hirayama Entrance Exam Research Institute. Currently, he operates Koizumi Language School, which specializes in preparing students for renowned junior high school entrance exams like Kaisei, Azabu, Shibuya Education Academy Makuhari, Joshi Gakuin, Tsukuba University附属駒場, and Toshimaoka Women's Academy while also engaging in research and writing. He is also affiliated with Morigami Educational Research Institute and has published works including "Essential Themes for Junior High School Entrance Exam." (Diamond Publishing).
