PictoWorld is a sibling project to the widely recognized KuMir, designed as a freely distributed software system aimed at teaching the fundamentals of programming to preschool and early elementary school children. This tool enables young users to "assemble" simple programs from pictograms displayed on the computer screen, which control a virtual robot performer.

Primarily targeted at preschoolers who have not yet developed writing skills or early grade school students who may be reluctant to write, PictoWorld serves as an engaging introduction to programming concepts. Additionally, users have the option to save their PictoWorld projects in KuMir, allowing for continued work and exploration within the more advanced environment of KuMir.

Developed by the Institute of System Programming of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ISPRAS) at the request of the Russian Academy of Sciences, PictoWorld has received support for both classic and mobile versions during the 2013-2020 academic years.
