Chess, also known as "xiangqi" or Chinese Chess (Xiangqi in English), is an ancient Chinese board game with a long history dating back to the pre-Qin period. It is a two-player strategy game that has gained widespread popularity due to its simplicity and entertainment value. Chess is widely played in Chinese-speaking communities and countries within the Han cultural sphere, and is recognized as one of the 78 official sports events in China. It was also an official competition at the inaugural World Mind Sports Games.

Traditional Chinese Chess offers various modes of play including single-player mode challenging artificial intelligence, two-player mode for playing against friends, and over 40 classic endgame scenarios for practice.
