محمدتقی بهار, known as Malek al-Sho'ara, was a contemporary Iranian poet, writer, journalist, and politician. He was born on November 6, 1888 in Mashhad. His father, Mirza Mohammad Kazem Sabouri, was the Malek al-Sho'ara of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza during the reign of Naser al-Din Shah. Mohammadtaghi later assumed this position under the command of Mozaffar al-Din Shah.
