The Synodal Russian translation of the Bible contains the texts of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments in contemporary Russian. The translation was done in the 19th century in full accordance with the teachings of the Orthodox Church. It is the only Russian translation authorized by the Holy Synod and recognized by the Russian Orthodox Church.

The translation of the books of the Old Testament was made from Hebrew (Masoretic text) with some consideration given to the Church Slavonic text related to the translation of the seventy interpreters; the New Testament was translated from the Greek original.

This translation carries high authority and is widely used not only in the Orthodox Church but also in other Christian denominations that use the Russian language for preaching.

The Bible includes interpretations by saints such as John Chrysostom, Theophylactus of Bulgaria, Ephrem the Syrian, and Theophan the Recluse.

The application requires access to internal memory for installing a rather large volume of Bible text (50MB). If the application does not launch after installation, try to free up space on your internal memory.
