About the Palace Museum: Established in 1925, the Palace Museum is a large comprehensive national museum based on artifacts from the Ming and Qing dynasties' imperial palaces (Forbidden City) and court collections. It showcases ancient architectural complexes, artworks, and historical artifacts related to palace culture. The collection includes the world's largest and most intact wooden palace architecture from the Ming and Qing periods, along with a vast array of precious treasures. Over time, through state allocation, social donations, and private contributions, the museum's collection has grown significantly to include a series of over 1.8 million valuable items in areas such as ancient calligraphy and painting, antiquities, court relics, books, and archives. In 1961, the Palace was designated as one of China's first key cultural relic protection units by the State Council. In 1987, it was included in UNESCO's list of "World Cultural Heritage."
