One Chan was adopted and raised by Elder Dou since he was found abandoned. Growing up in the temple, One Chan is curious and always asking his master questions, who responds with profound teachings to help him grow.

The series explores the lives of the little monk, One Chan, his master, and the various people and events they encounter. Through their experiences, the audience gains insight into life's lessons and a deeper understanding of the joys and sorrows of worldly existence. Using the perspective of a young monk, the show delivers profound messages through the wise words of Elder Dou.

One Chan the Little Monk:

One Chan is a kind-hearted and lively young boy full of curiosity about everything around him, despite being oblivious to matters of the heart. He was abandoned by his parents at a young age and taken in by Elder Dou to become a monk in the temple.

Elder Dou:

Elder Dou is a well-traveled individual who has devoted himself to Buddhism, yet seems to have not entirely left the secular world. While outwardly carefree and even a bit flirtatious, inwardly he is warm, compassionate, and possesses great wisdom disguised as foolishness. He rescued One Chan from being left alone in the mountains by his parents and raised him as his own.
