"Three Hundred Tang Poems" is a widely circulated collection of Tang Dynasty poems. It includes works by 77 Tang Dynasty poets, totaling 310 poems. Among them, there are 33 five-character ancient poems, 46 Yuefu poems, 28 seven-character ancient poems, 50 seven-character regulated poems, 29 five-character quatrains, and 51 seven-character quatrains. Each poem is accompanied by annotations and comments. The category of five-character ancient poems, known as "Wugu," was a popular genre in the Tang Dynasty. Represented by renowned authors such as Li Bai, Du Fu, Wang Wei, Meng Haoran, and Wei Yingwu, these poems showcase bold and varied writing styles, directly used for narration, emotions, discussions, and depicting sceneries, allowing their functions to be fully realized. The category of seven-character ancient poems, known as "Qigu," originated in the Warring States period or even earlier.

Ancient poetry: Poetry is a unique literary genre in Chinese culture, with special formats and rhythms. From the perspective of tonal patterns, poems can be divided into two main types: ancient style poems and modern style poems. The concepts of ancient style poems and modern style poems were formed in the Tang Dynasty based on the sound and rhythm of the poetry.
