Notably, these visual glitches can be deactivated in the app settings for those who prefer a clearer interface.

It is essential to note that Futuriana offers a greater level of challenge compared to its 4-cube counterpart, Tetris. Players are introduced to a responsive control system: when a new piece appears, touching the display allows for lateral movement and rotation. Specifically, sliding up or down rotates the piece while simultaneously moving it in the desired direction. A small “handle” appears attached to the piece during touch interactions, aiding in visualization of potential movements.

To drop pieces, players can execute a brief touch, with an additional touch capable of halting descent. This mechanism allows players to both move and rotate pieces fluidly in one gesture, facilitating a quicker development of gameplay dynamics than traditional variants.

Futuriana features an adaptable interface, enabling play with either hand by flipping controls, which inversely adjusts gesture directions accordingly. Additionally, the game is structured around timed levels that encourage speedy play: initial pieces will be stationary to facilitate practice, but game speed increases every three minutes up to a maximum level of 30, with 29 increments in total.
