The Phone Book Navi application is a free tool that retrieves information about phone numbers not stored on the smartphone. Compared to carrier-provided spam prevention applications (which often require a fee), it offers an extensive amount of information and high-precision results, displaying details about not only nuisance calls but also businesses and public institutions. Additionally, the SMS filtering feature, which helps prevent phishing scams, is also available at no cost and is widely adopted by various governmental and corporate organizations due to its effectiveness in safeguarding against data leaks.

Important: If using a setting that relies on data communication for voice calls, incoming call display will not function (see details below).

Initial Setup:

1. Install the Phone Book Navi application.
2. Open the iPhone settings: "Settings > Apps > Phone > Call Blocking & Identification" (compatible with iOS 18).
3. Activate all the extensions for Phone Book Navi (there are a total of nine).
4. Return to the maintenance screen in Phone Book Navi to update phone number information.

Please ensure the above settings are completed initially.

Depending on your device’s processing speed, steps 2, 3, and 4 may take some time (the loading circle may continue spinning). If this happens, please wait for about five minutes as the database is being created. If these settings are not completed, incoming call display will not work.

Functionality Test:

A simple way to test if the app is functioning correctly is to press "099-999-9999" in the standard phone app. (Do not press the call button; simply pressing the number is sufficient.) If "Phone Book Navi: Test Number" appears below the number, it indicates proper functionality. If it does not appear, the app may not be working; please update the phone number information from the maintenance screen.

Troubleshooting:

If the incoming call ID is not displayed or remains in a waiting state, this may indicate that the extension (spam call database) is corrupted. If the waiting state lasts for more than five minutes, it is likely corrupted as well. In this case, reset the database by navigating to App Settings > Menu > "Reset Phone Number Information." If issues persist, please reboot your device. For further assistance or if uncertain about anything, report it through "Settings > Report a Problem" within the app.

Data Updates:

When "Automatic Updates" is enabled in the maintenance screen and the Phone Book Navi app remains in your tasks, phone number information will be updated automatically (updates occur while charging and when your device is in sleep mode; timing is determined by iOS). Notifications will be displayed if automatic updates fail (only if notifications are enabled); in this case, please manually update from the maintenance screen. Note that phone number information is updated daily.

It is important to update data from the maintenance screen after making an in-app purchase. Please confirm that desired functionalities meet expectations before purchasing as refunds are not available after purchase.

Important Notes:

• The Phone Book Navi's caller ID service does not require membership registration or personal information collection, which distinguishes it from other similar applications that often necessitate user registration and come with fees.
• The service operates solely within Japan, ensuring no personal information is sent to overseas servers unlike foreign applications. The application adheres meticulously to App Store developer policies regarding privacy data management.
