Review: MUKIDOKU - The Unread Message App for LINE

MUKIDOKU is an app that allows you to view messages on the popular messaging app LINE without marking them as read. With this app, you can discreetly check message contents without alerting the sender.

Please note:

• You may not be able to access certain messages when your device is turned off.
• MUKIDOKU retrieves message contents from the notification bar. Messages not appearing in the notification bar cannot be accessed. Please enable "message notifications" and check "notification content" settings.

If "new message available" is displayed:

In some cases, LINE app may display "new message available" for the first message when using power-saving apps like memory cleaners. Please exclude LINE app from memory cleaner apps to avoid this issue.

If you are unable to view unread messages:

In order to retrieve messages, make sure to enable "notification settings" in your messaging app and check the "display message contents" option. MUKIDOKU retrieves message contents from the notification area at the top of your Android device. If messages are not displayed in the notification area, message contents cannot be retrieved. We have received reports from users regarding the following issues:

• Similar apps may cause compatibility issues.
• If you are logged into LINE on your PC, notifications may not be received on your mobile device, and message contents may not be visible.
• Some devices may not support this app.
• Security apps may disable the unread feature and cause malfunctions.
• Power-saving apps may also disable the unread feature and cause malfunctions.
• If errors or malfunctions occur, please reinstall the app or initialize it after deleting messages.
• MUKIDOKU does not directly access information from the LINE app.
• You can view message contents retrospectively.

Setting Instructions:

For Android:

In order to use MUKIDOKU and retrieve messages:

• In the Android settings, activate "MUKIDOKU - Unread" under "Accessibility" settings.
• In the LINE messaging app settings, enable notifications and check "display message contents." MUKIDOKU does not directly retrieve information from the messaging app. The app temporarily stores information from the messaging app on your device and retrieves it from there. Therefore, some messages may not be retrieved on certain devices. Please contact us with the name of your device and the symptoms if you encounter this issue.

For Android 5.x:

In order to retrieve messages, you need to grant MUKIDOKU permission to access notifications on your device. Go to "Settings" > "Sound & Notifications" > "Notification Access" and enable MUKIDOKU.

Reading messages in Airplane Mode:

Although it is possible to read messages in Airplane Mode, the Android version of LINE continues to run in the background, so marking a message as read will occur once you exit Airplane Mode. With MUKIDOKU, unread status is never marked as read unless you directly view the message. Therefore, be sure to check messages within the MUKIDOKU app.
