The "Taj al-Lugha" and "Sihah al-Arabiyya" is a comprehensive Arabic lexicon authored by Imam Abu Nasr Ismail ibn Hamad al-Jahiz. Commonly referred to as "Sihah," this dictionary stands as one of the earliest compilations in the Arabic language, systematically arranged by sections and chapters. The organization of the entries follows the Arabic alphabet, with each letter serving as a main section, and subdivisions corresponding to words that end with the same letter. For instance, words concluding with "n" can be found under the section for "n."

The text has been published in six volumes, with a critical edition produced by Mr. Ahmed Abdel Ghafour Attar in 1956 in Egypt, encompassing 40,000 entries. The publication of this dictionary marked a significant shift in lexicography, deviating from the traditional arrangement established by Al-Khalil ibn Ahmad al-Farahidi by organizing words based on their final letters.

It is considered one of the most proficient and precise dictionaries in Arabic literature. Additionally, Imam Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr al-Razi selected certain entries to compile a work known as "Mukhtar al-Sihah." This selection further illustrates the impact and usefulness of the original text within Arabic scholarship.
