  Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin - a Russian poet, playwright, and prose writer. Pushkin holds a reputation as one of the greatest or grandest Russian poets. He is also considered the creator of the modern Russian literary language.

• "The Tale of Tsar Saltan" is a free adaptation of a folk tale recorded by Pushkin in two different versions. The author did not strictly adhere to either, freely altering and supplementing the plot while preserving the folk nature of the content. The long title of the tale imitates common titles of lubok narratives in the 18th century. Characters borrowed from folk tales were used in the work, such as the magical image of Princess Swans resonating with the character of Vasilisa the Wise.
  
  An old man and his wife live by the sea. The old man provides for them by fishing, and one day he catches an extraordinary golden fish in his net, capable of speaking human language. The fish pleads to be released back into the sea, and the old man sets it free without asking for a reward. Upon returning home, he tells his wife about what happened. She scolds him and compels him to return to the sea, call for the fish, and demand a reward, even if it's just a new trough. The old man calls for the fish at the sea, it appears and promises to fulfill his wish, saying: "Do not worry, go with God."
  
  "The Tale of the Priest and His Workman Balda" is a story by A.S. Pushkin. During the poet's lifetime, it was not published. It was written in Boldino on September 13, 1830. The basis was a Russian folk tale recorded by Pushkin in Mikhailovskoye.

• A fairy tale is a literary genre:
  
  A folkloric tale—an epic genre of written and oral folklore: a prose-based oral narrative about fictional events in the folklore of various peoples. A type of narrative mainly in prose folklore (fairy-tale prose), encompassing pieces that rely on invention. Fairy folklore contrasts with "authentic" folkloric narrative (non-fairy-tale) (myth, epic saga, song, spiritual verses, legend).

• Literary fairy tale—an epic genre: a work oriented toward invention closely linked to folk tales but unlike them, belonging to a specific author, not circulated in oral form before publication and lacking variants.
