Currently, you can obtain a driver's license, and we plan to expand to resident registration cards in the future.

The mobile driver's license is a legally recognized identification card that can be securely stored on a personal smartphone by encryption and is directly issued by the National Police Agency.

• Having or newly acquiring a driver's license

• Android OS 7.0 or higher, biometric authentication support, NFC support

Note: Individuals who have not been issued an IC driver's license can obtain one on-site through QR code issuance at the driver's license examination office. It is also available for users of economical phones. However, it is currently not available for corporate-owned mobile phones, anonymous prepaid phones, or blackberry models.

You can quickly obtain a mobile driver's license if you bring your physical driver's license and a smartphone with the mobile identification app installed when visiting the driver's license examination office. You can also apply for an IC driver's license online at the police station civil affairs office or through the Road Traffic Authority's integrated safe driving online service.

Select the issuance method:

1. Method 1: Replace the physical driver's license with an IC driver's license and directly issue a mobile driver's license by recognizing (tagging) it on a smartphone
2. Method 2: Issue a mobile driver's license on-site through the QR code issuance method without replacing the physical license

Note: The mobile driver's license is a legally recognized identification card, and the issuing authority requires at least one face-to-face identification verification. If you replace your physical driver's license with an IC driver's license, you do not need to revisit the issuing authority for re-issuance of the mobile driver's license even when changing your phone in the future. The IC driver's license can be received on the same day when applying at the examination office and takes approximately 15 days when applying at the police station. If you apply for an IC driver's license online, you must specify a date for receipt 15 days after the application date (excluding holidays). For more details on the issuance of IC driver's licenses, please refer to the Road Traffic Authority's integrated online service website (www.safedriving.or.kr).

Tagging method for IC driver's licenses: Separate your smartphone case and place the IC driver's license on a flat surface. Please make sure to maintain contact for at least 3-4 seconds. The NFC settings should be in "Normal mode," and the contact position may vary depending on the smartphone model, so please check.

• Check contact position: Settings > Connections > NFC
• Note: If you use the IC driver's license in conjunction with a transportation card, it may be recognized as a duplicate. Please avoid overlapping usage.

Facial recognition method: Clean the front camera of your smartphone and position yourself about 40-50cm away from the camera in a well-lit area. Look straight at the screen from the front, blink your eyes or turn your head to the right or left as instructed by the guidance message.
