萌典—教育部國語、臺語、客語辭典民間版 6.0.3

This app features 160,000 Mandarin, 20,000 Taiwanese, and 14,000 Hakka entries, as well as stroke order animations for commonly used characters. It can be accessed offline without an internet connection.

When connected to the internet, users can listen to authentic pronunciations of commonly used Mandarin, Taiwanese, and Hakka terms.

Each term in the definitions section can be tapped to access further explanations.

The dictionary sources include the Ministry of Education's Revised Dictionary of National Languages, Dictionary of Common Taiwanese Minnan Terms, and Dictionary of Common Hakka Terms.

The stroke order data is sourced from the Ministry of Education's Standard Fonts and Stroke Order Learning Website.

The Mandarin pronunciation data is sourced from the Ministry of Education's Multimedia Network Edition of the Mandarin Dictionary.

The Chinese-English/Chinese-French/Chinese-German reference sources are CEDict, CFDict, and HanDeDict, respectively, all licensed under CC-BY-SA 3.0.

This dictionary is named "MoeDict" with the hope of restoring the true meaning of "萌" which refers to "beginning", "people", and "newly growing plants". It is not limited to the recent popular meaning of "萌え" (MOE).
