◆ Introduction ◆

Currently, there are many educational and developmental apps available in app stores, but very few are considered suitable for one's own children. The reality is that many apps have poor pronunciation, excessive unnecessary vocabulary, rely on chance-based games, and are considered nonsensical as teaching materials for children who absorb everything like a sponge.

Therefore, as a parent, I wanted to create educational apps that parents could confidently let their children play with on smartphones and tablets starting from infancy.

Through learning various words via the app, the goal is to broaden the child's interests so that eventually they will be able to read picture books on their own.

◆ App Features ◆

• Peekaboo
  Target Age: 0-1 year old
  By tapping the screen, a character is displayed along with sound. It is a simple mechanism of playing "peekaboo," but infants should find it captivating.
  It might be beneficial to turn off the sound and say "peekaboo" out loud as a family. Here, you can also learn basic concepts of families and animals.

• Learn Colors
  Target Age: 0-2 years old
  By tapping the screen, colored balls are displayed with sound. This simple setup should captivate infants with character movements and the concept of colors can be learned by toddlers aged one to two years.
  * To avoid confusion about color concepts, we use "orange" instead of "tangerine," "pink" instead of "peach," and "gray" or "mouse grey" instead of "ash gray." We do not cover recently controversial colors like "flesh color" or "light orange."

• What's This?
  Target Age: 1-3 years old
  Things to Learn: "Names of Objects," "Numbers"
  By tapping the screen, images categorized by types such as vegetables or fruits are displayed along with the audio prompt "What's this?" Tapping a button reveals the answer both in audio and text form.

• Which One?
  Target Age: 2-4 years old
  Things to Learn: "Names of Objects," "Numbers"
  Images of three items are displayed on the screen along with audio. Tapping a screen reveals whether it's correct or wrong along with the answer shown in text and image form.

• Remember!
  Target Age: 3-6 years old
  Things to Learn: "Hiragana," "Katakana," "Alphabet"
  Characters are displayed on the screen accompanied by audio. Upon completion of one pronunciation, an image change occurs with the next audio. Differentiate between usage based on age range.

• Listen and Match
  Target Age: 3-6 years old
  Concepts Taught: Numbers, Hiragana, Katakana, Alphabet
  Audio plays along with three choices displayed onscreen. Upon tapping the screen, correct/incorrect audio feedback is given along with displaying the correct answer in text format.

• Can You Read?
  Target Age: 3-6 years old
  Concepts Taught: Hiragana, Katakana
  Practical exercises for recognizing Hiragana and Katakana learned in "Listen and Match." A string of characters (nouns) in either Hiragana or Katakana is displayed onscreen. Choose the appropriate image from among the provided choices. Tapping the screen reveals correct/incorrect feedback along with displaying the corresponding image and text answer.

• Choose Correctly!
  Target Age: 3-6 years old
  Concepts Taught: Hiragana, Katakana
  Select which written characters correspond to images provided – building upon skills from previous exercises like "Listen and Match" and "Can You Read?" By completing these tasks, understanding and reaction speed related to Hiragana and Katakana should improve.

• Listen and Arrange
  Target Age: 4-6 years old
  Concepts Taught: Hiragana, Katakana
  Multiple Hiragana and Katakana characters are displayed on screen accompanied by audio. Tap the characters on the screen in order according to the spoken sequence. This exercise aids in recognizing words structured as groups of Hiragana or Katakana.

• Look and Arrange
  Target Age: 4-6 years old
  Concepts Taught: Hiragana, Katakana
  An extension of "Listen and Arrange". Only images alongside multiple Hiragana and Katakana characters are displayed onscreen. Match characters sequentially as spoken. This exercise helps translate conceptual images into strings of characters mentally.
