VISION

Welcome to the Bible Reading App! The aim of this app is to bring the contemporary church back to the tradition of believers reading the Bible together and listening to God's word. Believers reading the Bible together is the foundation of the life of God's people in both the Old and New Testaments. The Bible Reading App reminds believers to remember God's acts and their identity as His chosen people. This practice is evident throughout the Bible, from the reading of the Law in Moses' time, King Josiah's reforms, to Ezra's revival of the people of Israel.

In Jesus' time, the core of Jewish life was loudly reading the Law and the books of the prophets in synagogues. Early Christians also maintained this tradition, reading aloud Paul's letters when gathering as believers. Apostle Paul himself placed great importance on reading the Bible, instructing in 1 Timothy 4:13, "Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching."

Today, you can gather with your group to read the Bible together. As God's people, His word is the bread of our lives. Reading and listening to the Bible together regularly should be as simple as enjoying a meal. May you all grow in life through God's word and equip yourselves to be workers for God! MEETING SUGGESTIONS

• When you are ready to start your own Bible Reading group, it is advisable to have printed copies of the Bible for participants to follow along.
• Discuss with your fellow workers and choose a reading plan lasting 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 60 minutes. It takes around 90 hours to complete reading the entire Bible.
• Each reading session should include: two Psalms for starting and ending prayers, one passage from the Old Testament, and one passage from the New Testament. If using a 45-minute or 60-minute plan, you can read through the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice over two and a half years.
• We recommend brief pauses between readings for reflection in prayer on what has been heard. These reflection points are indicated within each segment.
• Each segment is accompanied by videos from Bible Project that you can optionally play. These videos provide background information such as narrative structure, themes, and history. They are engaging, easy to understand, and can help deepen the congregation's understanding of the Scriptures.
• At the end, express gratitude for everyone's presence and encourage continued participation. Discussion sessions are optional; what matters most is listening to God's word together.
