The need for our children and families to learn the letters of the Quran or the Arabic alphabet is pressing. This knowledge is critical for understanding Quranic words and verses, mastering pronunciation, and correctly forming words. The emphasis on this educational endeavor is perhaps even greater than that placed on basic sustenance. Given that the instruction of Quranic letters is deeply rooted in our faith and our holy text, it is concerning that ignorance regarding Quranic reading has proliferated among both adults and children.

At our organization, Iqra for Quran Sciences (Duhok Branch), our dedicated teachers have excelled in their roles after passing through numerous stages of training and undergoing varied experiences with existing phonetic materials. Recognizing our duty and commitment, we have decided to author a comprehensive book titled "Alif Lam Meem: A Guide to Teaching the Quran." This initiative addresses the need for accessible educational resources regarding this foundational aspect of Islamic literacy.

In addition to ensuring that the book is available for print and distribution, we offer training courses for educators within our organization. We are aware that some teachers may be deprived of these training opportunities, particularly those teaching children from other regions. Therefore, this book includes multimedia resources (audio, video) via QR codes as guides to assist teachers in their instruction. Each lesson features:

• A clear outline of the lesson's objectives.
• The rules that aid teachers in delivering effective lessons.
• Examples highlighted in distinct colors that correspond to each new lesson.
• Illustrations displaying initial, middle, and final forms of letters.
• A table under each lesson designed for tracking student progress and understanding.
• A verse or hadith accompanying each table to inspire students and promote moral development.

Ultimately, our sole intention in creating this resource is to seek the pleasure of Allah. We pray for sincerity, acceptance, guidance, and correctness in this endeavor as we hope it contributes positively to our spiritual rewards and those of all who support Quranic initiatives.
