GPS with Compass: The app features both GPS and Compass functionalities displayed on a full-screen map with a high precision grid, allowing users to easily monitor accuracy.
Altitude: Users can view their current altitude with GPS accuracy while in GPS mode.
Speed: Real-time speed calculation is provided by the iPhone GPS system.
UTM Coordinates: WGS84/NAD83 UTM coordinates are continuously updated in real-time and during map browsing mode.
MGRS and Compass Mils: Direct access to these features is available via the Location button.
Magnetic Declination: MapTool offers current magnetic declination globally based on the World Magnetic Model (WMM), a crucial tool for users utilizing a physical compass.
Map Browsing: With Map browsing, users can seamlessly navigate using Latitude/Longitude or UTM coordinates across the globe.
Map Grid: The app provides a high precision grid with predefined scale values in both metric and feet/miles accessible via the Scale button.
Battery Friendly: To optimize battery life, the app conserves energy by turning off GPS functionalities in compass-only and browsing modes.
