Initially developed for employees at Shougang Group, the app has evolved to serve various industries and professions, showcasing continuous improvements and updates aimed at enhancing the user experience for shift workers.

Questions such as "What shift do I work today?" and "What about tomorrow?" are common among shift workers. Traditionally, these individuals would track their schedules on paper calendars, a method that is both cumbersome and inconvenient for quick reference or sharing. The integration of specialized alarms tailored to specific shifts has become an essential feature for many users—this capability lies at the core of the Shift Assistant app.

With an emphasis on shift rules and alarm functionalities, the Shift Assistant app also offers additional features such as weather updates, task lists, sharing capabilities, and group switching—functions that have proven to be highly sought after by its user base. Upon its release, it garnered significant attention and acclaim from users.

The app was developed by employee Jia Xinghong of Jingtang Company and first launched in January 2013 as version 1.0. After two years of iterations leading to versions 1.0 and 2.0, a loyal user base was established within Shougang Group. In December 2014, Bosteel Group formed a dedicated project team to oversee all aspects of Shift Assistant's planning, development, testing, and operations. On September 1, 2015, the newly revamped version 3.0 was released to the market and received unanimous praise from users.
