Suddenly, a mysterious duo emerges, posing a threat by transforming these yokai into terrifying creatures known as "Aku-i."

The young onmyoji, Hiragi Yohaku, takes up the mantle to confront this duo. Complicating matters is the plight of Chimi Maru, a small yokai transformed into Aku-i after a tragic encounter. Meanwhile, key figure Keyaki Ayumu aims to expel the onmyoji from the capital to hasten the march of civilization.

The true identities and motives of this enigmatic pair remain cloaked in mystery. As their desires and emotions intertwine, this Taisho-era romantic action drama embarks on an enthralling journey.
