La Biblia Reina-Valera is a translation of the Holy Bible into Spanish. It includes both the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament consists of books such as Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, and many others. The New Testament includes books like Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and so on.

This version of the Bible is also known as the Biblia del Oso (Bear Bible) because of the bear illustration on its cover. It was first published in 1569 and translated by Casiodoro de Reina, a Spanish monk. Cipriano de Valera later revised it in 1602, which is why it is often referred to as the Reina-Valera (RV) version.

The Reina-Valera Bible gained popularity during the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century. It continues to be widely used today by various Christian denominations and groups, including evangelical churches and non-denominational Christians. It has also found usage among other faith groups like the Seventh-day Adventist Church and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Casiodoro de Reina spent twelve years translating the Bible while in exile to escape persecution from the Inquisition. He based his translation of the Old Testament on the Hebrew Masoretic Text (1525 edition) and used Sanctes Pagninus' Latin translation as a secondary source. For the New Testament translation, Reina relied on the Textus Receptus (Erasmus 1516, Stephanus 1550), the Complutensian Polyglot Bible, and other Greek manuscripts available at that time.

The Reina-Valera Bible is highly regarded for its historical and linguistic significance. Its early editions played a crucial role in making the Bible accessible to Spanish-speaking people during a time when translations into vernacular languages were prohibited.
