When I was young, I used to believe that I was Peter Pan who would never grow old. However, inevitably, health wears us down, and our looks age.

As time ticks by, life slips away.

At times, life is just a series of numbers—how many years, how many months, how many hours, how many minutes. When you realize this, you often find yourself engulfed in a profound sense of emptiness, unable to shake off the fear.

Sometimes, even though you can see yourself 10 years younger in photos, you almost forget what kind of person you were back then, what you were thinking at that time, and what aspirations you held.

American poet Nae Stael wrote a poem at the age of 87 titled "I Shall Pick More Daisies," excerpted below.

If I could live my life again,

I would try to make more mistakes.

I would loosen up, I would be more flexible.

I would be sillier than this trip permits.

There are very few things I would take seriously.

I would be crazier, talk less about cleanliness.

I would take more risks. I would travel more often.

I would climb more mountains, swim more rivers, watch more sunsets.

I would eat more ice cream and fewer beans.

I would cause more trouble but worry less in my imagination.

Oh, I've had unforgettable moments.

If I could start over again, I would want more of these moments.

I would skip school more frequently.

I wouldn’t aim for such high marks unless by mistake.

I would ride the carousel more often,

I would pick more daisies.
