كلمن هي لعبة ثقافية متعددة اللاعبين تتنافس فيها فريقان: الأزرق والأحمر. تتكون لوحة اللعبة من شبكة خلايا تحتوي على أحرف، حيث يمثل كل حرف البداية للإجابة الصحيحة. عند تقديم إجابة صحيحة، يتغير لون الخلية ليتناسب مع لون الفريق. يسعى الفريق الأزرق لتكوين مسار عمودي في الشبكة، بينما يهدف الفريق الأحمر لتشكيل مسار أفقي. الفريق الذي يحقق هدفه أولاً هو الفائز.

تحتوي بعض الخلايا على الرمز (#)، مما يشير إلى أن الإجابة المطلوبة تكون رقمًا. إذا تم اختيار خلية أكثر من مرة دون تقديم إجابة صحيحة، تتحول الخلية إلى سؤال صح أو خطأ، مما يرمز له بالعلامة (؟). في حال الإجابة بشكل خاطئ على سؤال الصح أو الخطأ، يتم احتساب النقطة للفريق المنافس.

للبدء في لعبة جديدة، يتعين على المتسابقين جميعًا الاتصال بالإنترنت عبر نفس شبكة الواي فاي. يقوم أحد المتسابقين باختيار "لعبة جديدة" ليكون المضيف، الذي يحدد إعدادات اللعبة مثل أنواع الأسئلة ونمط اللعب. ينبغي على باقي المتسابقين اختيار "دخول في لعبة" من القائمة الرئيسية، حيث يمكنهم تكوين فرقهم ثم الانضمام للعبة المضيف من خلال كود QR أو عنوان IP.

يمكن لأي لاعب، باستثناء المضيف، مغادرة اللعبة دون التأثير على سير اللعب. من الممكن أيضًا إضافة لاعبين جدد في أي وقت خلال اللعبة. إذا خرج المضيف، تتوقف اللعبة ويعود جميع المتسابقين إلى القائمة الرئيسية.

يوفر المضيف خيارين لنمط اللعبة: النمط التقليدي ونمط السرعة. في النمط التقليدي، يتم اختيار الحرف بالتناوب؛ حيث يختار الفريق الأزرق حرفًا ويجيب على سؤاله، ثم يتبع ذلك الفريق الأحمر، مع استمرار الدورة بغض النظر عن الإجابات الصحيحة أو الخاطئة.

أما في نمط السرعة، يُمنح اختيار الحرف للفريق الذي أجب بشكل صحيح على السؤال السابق. بعد ظهور السؤال، يمكن لأي فريقٍ الإجابة عليه. يُعطى الفريق الذي يجيب أولًا وقتًا للاجابة دون إعادة رؤية السؤال بعدها. وفي حالة عدم الإجابة أو تقديم إجابة خاطئة، يُسمح للفريق الآخر بالإجابة مع إمكانية رؤية السؤال مرة أخرى.
