The "Hot Potato" is a digital German language learning game developed by the Goethe Institute. This interactive experience allows players to enhance their vocabulary, general knowledge, and grammar skills collaboratively with friends.

The game accommodates up to five players who form a team. Participants register under a group name, along with their country, city, and individual names.

In each round, teams are tasked with selecting the correct answer from four options for a given question. Each player has a limited amount of time to respond and may consult with teammates if necessary. After the time expires, the smartphone is passed to the next player, who then tackles the upcoming question. Notably, the response time decreases with each new round.

The primary aim of this German language game is to collectively answer as many questions correctly as possible. Incorrect responses cause the "potato" on the display to become increasingly "hot." Essentially, your smartphone represents the "Hot Potato," and players must quickly pass it to avoid being "burned."

The game proceeds until the "potato" becomes too hot, signaling its conclusion. At the end, players can view their high score on a leaderboard that indicates their team's standing both nationally and internationally. The best result is automatically saved in this ranking!

To restart the game at any time, players simply need to click the 'X' located in the upper right corner of the display.
