According to research conducted by the Japan Marketing Research Organization as of October 28, 2024, a market survey was carried out targeting four major hometown tax donation portal sites.

The official app for the comprehensive hometown tax donation site, "Furusato Choice," has been launched, offering new functionality and convenience.

Incorporating the same features as the website, the app allows users to make donations by utilizing their member ID and password. Users can select thank-you gifts, specify their intended use, and choose supporting municipalities directly within the application.

The app enhances the user experience with several supportive features:

• Ability to save search history and display related categories based on previously entered gift preferences
• Display of remaining deductible amount available for this year, via a dedicated upper limit indicator
• Streamlined filter search functionality that allows setting the remaining donation amount with a single tap, reducing input effort

Regarding the concept of hometown tax donation (Furusato Nozei), it is a system enabling individuals to donate to their birthplace or a municipality they wish to support. By completing the procedures, donors can receive income tax refunds and resident tax deductions on amounts exceeding 2,000 yen. This system also allows donors to specify how their contributions are used and offers appealing thank-you gifts such as local specialties.

The deductible upper limit refers to the maximum amount eligible for tax deduction through Furusato Nozei. This limit varies depending on factors such as annual income and household composition. It is recommended to verify your individual deductible limit before making a donation. Detailed information is available within the "What is Furusato Nozei" menu in the Furusato Choice app.
