The narrative unfolds from an initial chapter that sets the story in motion and then branches out according to the reader’s choices. Ultimately, this results in eight distinct plotlines spanning a variety of genres, from hardboiled detective to romance. Upon completion, readers receive a psychoanalytic assessment based on their decisions during the story. Thus, «Sulazhin» functions not only as a literary interactive tale but also as a psychological test.

The original concept for this project was conceived by Boris Akunin two years prior, when he proposed a story-game based on the Dyatlov Pass mystery in his LiveJournal blog. However, for the introductory book of the «Octopus» project, a completely new narrative — «Sulazhin» — was developed. Future installments, including a story about the Dyatlov Pass, are also planned within this series.

The «Sulazhin» story includes over fifty exclusive illustrations rendered in various styles, from classical drawings to comic strips, highlighting the diversity of plotlines. The psychoanalyst’s insights are complemented by music from Boris Grebenshchikov. The first chapter is offered free of charge. Should the story captivate you, subsequent chapters or the complete volume can be purchased for a modest fee.
