WORD GAME RULES

Game Area

The game area consists of a 15 x 15 grid where each cell can contain only one letter.

Gameplay

• The word game can accommodate 2, 3, or 4 players.
• Players start the game with 7 letters each.
• The first player must write a word by passing through the central cell.
• Words must be written either horizontally or vertically only.
• Every move after the first must connect with at least one already played letter.
• The player with the highest score at the end wins the game.
• After each turn, players draw random letters from the bag equal to the number of letters they used.

Letter Values

The game includes 100 letters, varying in frequency and scoring potential. Commonly used letters in Turkish words yield fewer points, while rarer letters score higher.

Using All Letters

A highly effective way to earn bonus points is by using all letters in one turn. A player who manages this receives an additional 50 points added to their score.

Exchanging Letters

If a player cannot form a word with their current letters or prefers different ones, they may select letters to exchange for new ones, provided enough letters are available in the bag.

End of Game Scenarios

Scenario 1

• The game ends when a player has played their turn and has no letters left, and there are no remaining letters in the bag.
• If the opponent still has letters, the winning player's score increases by the combined value of the opponent's remaining letters while the opponent’s score decreases equivalent to those values.
• The player with the higher score at conclusion wins. If scores are tied, the game ends in a draw.

Scenario 2

• If players still hold letters but can no longer create meaningful words on the board, they can mutually agree to skip four turns to conclude the game.
• The leading player at this point wins. A tie leads to a draw.

Scenario 3

• If any player leaves the game at any time, their opponent is declared the winner.

Scenario 4

• A player who fails to make a move within the allotted time is considered to have left the game. Their opponent wins by default.

Multiplayer Scenarios (more than two players)

• The same rules apply as in a two-player game; however, if one player leaves, gameplay continues with remaining players as long as there are more than one still active participant.
• The overall winner at game’s end is considered victorious over all opponents. Players placed lower in scoring are deemed defeated by those ranked above them.

Accepted Words

• The word list is based on the Turkish Language Association dictionary.
• Additionally, certain commonly used terms accepted in daily conversation are also valid for gameplay.
• A comprehensive list of accepted words can be found in the application’s dictionary section.
