The Vector Control Unit of Puerto Rico, known as "The Unit," has developed the Mosquítalo app to encourage you to take a direct role in eliminating mosquito breeding sites. The Aedes aegypti mosquito breeds in our homes, communities, and schools, making civic responsibility one of the most crucial elements in preventing dengue, Zika, and chikungunya on the island. By using Mosquítalo, you become part of the solution by preventing the spread of the Aedes aegypti mosquito.

Mosquítalo provides valuable information on how to protect yourself from mosquito bites, how diseases are transmitted, and which are the preferred breeding sites for female mosquitoes to lay their eggs.

With this application, you can conduct weekly inspections in your home, school, or community by selecting the quantity and type of breeding sites removed. Additionally, through Mosquítalo, you can share your results on social networks, text messages, and other platforms. This app allows you to keep a history of your activities and the types of breeding sites you have been able to eliminate.
