臺灣樹木圖鑑 2.3.0

The content of this program is based on the collaborative work of authors Lu Fu-yuan, Ou Chen-xiong, and Lu Jin-cheng in "Taiwan Tree Guide." The original book is divided into five volumes and was published by the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan from 1997 to 2001. Subsequently, the Executive Yuan launched the "National Digital Learning Program," making the original book available in a web format. Due to the limitations of web format for mobile reading and searching, as well as inconvenience in carrying laptops outdoors, this program was developed.

The original five-volume set contains descriptions of 994 plant species and nearly 1,700 images, all integrated into the program without the need for internet access. Despite the program's size of 134MB, all data is stored on an external SD card, occupying only 2.1MB of phone storage space, making it easy to install even on low-end phones.

The original book was published in 2001, meaning over a decade has passed since its release. During this time, botanical names may have undergone changes; therefore, botanical names are mainly based on the "Taiwan Biodiversity Database" publicly available from the "Biodiversity Research Center, Academia Sinica." In cases where a direct comparison cannot be made, the data from the original book takes precedence.

The authors of this program have a background in computer expertise rather than forestry-related expertise. Any oversights identified are welcomed for correction.
