Company Overview

糖糖圈 is an application developed by Shenzhen Aibao Wei Biotechnology Co., Ltd., aimed at shared management of medical information related to type 1 diabetes. Its core products include a patient mobile app, a doctor mobile app, and a hospital follow-up management system. This project has received certification from China Charity Expo, funding from the Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Committee and Ba'an District Science and Technology Bureau, investment from China United Health Industry Group, and support from Guangdong Diabetes Prevention and Treatment Center as well as the Guangdong Precision Medicine Application Society. It operates as a social enterprise dedicated to addressing social issues faced by type 1 diabetes patients in China.

As a social enterprise, the team pursues a sustainable development approach grounded in "benevolent economy" and "ethical business practices." Their mission is to explore a "universal benefit" business model to mitigate long-term blood glucose control challenges, financial burdens, and limited educational opportunities for children with type 1 diabetes. Through internet technology, wearable medical devices, and innovative international internet-based glucose management models, they provide lifelong membership-based glucose management services, fostering patient empowerment and promoting the establishment and enhancement of medical assistance systems for type 1 diabetes.

As of December 1, 2019, the team has served 6,103 patients with type 1 diabetes, accumulated 4,169,417 self-monitored blood glucose data entries, and registered over 30,000 patients nationally.

• Free self-management tools: including comprehensive blood glucose logging, AI-based carbohydrate recognition, quick access to food carbohydrate content database, intelligent blood glucose calendar, HbA1c prediction, multi-dimensional blood glucose analysis, report export functions such as blood glucose reports and electronic medical records—these tools meet the daily needs of individuals with type 1 diabetes.
• Peer support community: involving roles such as doctors, nurses, nutritionists, psychologists, blood sugar control experts, and newly diagnosed patients. The community encourages mutual support and active engagement.
• Continuous blood glucose management services: offering public health consultations on blood sugar control, a wealth of educational articles, weekly expert live sessions—"Sweet Talk"—and other resources.
• 糖友商城 (Diabetes Friends Store): carefully selected cost-effective products ranging from continuous glucose monitoring devices, blood glucose meters and test strips, sampling and injection supplies, domestic and international insulin pumps, control videos, insulin adjustment services, insurance options for type 1 diabetes patients, genetic testing for diabetes, to educational books. The introduction of "lifetime membership" aims to provide additional benefits for users.

TangTang Circle Diabetes Clinic

The Shenzhen Aibao Wei Clinic (TangTang Circle Diabetes Service Center) serves as an offline medical facility and patient service center integrated with the online management system. The clinic adopts an "empowered blood glucose management" education model centered on patient care. Its philosophy guides patients to "listen to their body's signals" and become their own doctors—aiming to enable them to independently handle rich real-world experiences without being defined solely by their chronic condition.

Service design considers deep-seated needs of insulin-dependent patients by providing a relaxed clinic environment and personalized medical packages. These include professional patient education, family education programs, blood glucose management services, and psychological support—striving to help patients enjoy a happier and more convenient normal life free from disease-related interference. The core team includes endocrinologists, diabetes educators, nutritionists, and psychologists practicing evidence-based medicine to ensure international-standard care.

Patient Education Team

The patient education team comprises doctors, educators ("patient teachers"), nutritionists, psychologists—all operating under a model of "intensive care + lifelong follow-up." After an initial month of intensive management, follow-up occurs every one to three months. Members hail from prestigious institutions such as Sun Yat-sen University Medical School, the First Affiliated Hospital of China University of Science and Technology (USTC), Guangdong Medical University, Hunan Traditional Chinese Medicine University—and many have participated in visits and study exchanges at specialized clinics in Taiwan.

The team is guided by scientific advisors like Professor Weng Jianping—Vice President of the First Affiliated Hospital of USTC and Executive Dean of Clinical Medical College—who is also a Changjiang Scholar featured by the Ministry of Education and a leading science communicator on diabetes in China. He served as Chair of the Chinese Diabetes Society’s Type 1 Diabetes Committee (2013–2016), leader of China’s first Type 1 Diabetes Research Group—and editor-in-chief of the Chinese Journal of Diabetes.

Team Members

The founder Zeng Xifeng holds dual bachelor degrees. From 2005–2013 he worked at China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group as a senior engineer—part of an international talent development program in 2012.
