The "Stroke Order Dictionary" is an application designed for quick searching of kanji characters through various input methods, allowing users to easily check the readings and stroke orders. Each registered kanji is supplemented with stroke order animations and additional information such as readings and radicals, making it usable as a simple kanji dictionary.

This application enables immediate access to the readings and stroke orders of any kanji of interest. Mastering the correct stroke order can also enhance one's penmanship.

The kanji search methods are straightforward. Users can write kanji directly on the screen with their fingers, selecting from the displayed options. In addition to handwritten input, users can search kanji by typing on a keyboard or pasting from the clipboard.

Features:

• Easy Search: Simply write the desired kanji on the screen, and the system will recognize it for immediate display. The handwriting recognition system utilizes Panasonic's "Rakuhira®", known for its effective performance in mobile gaming devices.
• Keyboard Search: By entering kanji directly on the keyboard, users can search for that specific character. Entering readings will display candidates sharing the same pronunciation.
• Clipboard Search: Strings from the clipboard can be incorporated into search candidates, allowing users to copy text from other applications or browsers for quick lookup.
• Radical Index: This feature allows users to choose radicals by writing them in directly or by referring to an indexed list categorized by the number of strokes.
• Alternative Indexes: Users can search kanji through several lists including radical indexes, reading indexes, stroke count indexes, classification indexes (common use, names, non-standard), JLPT levels, grade appropriateness, and unique characters.
• Stroke Order Animation Feature: Every character comes with a feature that displays its stroke order through animation. Large characters are shown on the screen for easy viewing of intricate strokes like "tome" and "hane".
• Stroke Order Practice: Users can practice tracing characters by following highlighted areas in red. Incorrect tracing direction will result in blocking progress, thus naturally teaching correct writing flow.
• Stroke Order Check: This function allows users to verify if they have learned the correct stroke order, along with monitoring writing direction. Users can also select items to check in groups of five strokes.
• Bookmarks and History: Users can attach color-coded bookmarks to individual kanji and add comments. A history feature displays recently viewed character detail screens.
• Web Search: Quickly perform internet searches for additional examples related to searched kanji.
• Settings: Here, users can adjust background options and pen properties, as well as purchase add-ons to remove advertisements. Background colors can be changed among white, black, or chalkboard themes.

Please note that this product uses a textbook-style font for stroke order displays. Exceptions such as "acceptable glyphs" are noted at the end of character details. It includes data for 6,421 characters including all commonly used kanji and names.

The stroke order follows guidelines set forth in "Guidelines for Stroke Order Instruction" (Ministry of Education, 1957), serving merely as a reference point—other valid stroke orders may exist. This application adheres to the regularly updated list of commonly used kanji published by the Cabinet Office as of November 30, 2010.
