Kustväder, the weather app, provides a detailed two-day forecast showing hourly updates on winds, waves, currents, water temperature, air pressure, and more. The app also features a function that displays sea conditions at different wind strengths and weather scenarios. The positioning function helps you input your longitude and latitude in case of emergency situations where you need to alert authorities. Additionally, you have the option to share your position with a friend if you simply want to inform them of your whereabouts.

The weather forecasts we utilize are sourced from SMHI and YR. Forecasts and weather warnings are issued and updated six times a day, showcasing local weather conditions from Skagerrak and Kattegat to the Northern Bothnian Sea, encompassing Vänern, Vättern, Siljan, Lake Storsjön (Jämtland), as well as Helgasjön and Bolmen.

Utilizing Kustväder from the Swedish Sea Rescue Society significantly boosts maritime safety. Therefore, Kustväder is available for free download.

Within Kustväder, there is also an option to support the Swedish Sea Rescue Society by becoming a member. The entire operation is run on a voluntary basis without government funding. All rescue boats are manned by volunteers who are available around the clock, all year round.
