Guía Farma 1.2

The Guía Farma application is a non-profit supplement that allows the consultation of the work done by the specialists of the Editorial Committee of the National Drug Formulary of Cuba on iPhones and iPads. The content of the application is available in both printed and digital formats online as a source of information from the Virtual Health Library of Cuba, belonging to the National Center for Information on Medical Sciences-Infomed.

The contents found in this application are primarily aimed at healthcare professionals. The information provided should not be used, under any circumstances, as a basis for prescribing treatments or medications without prior medical guidance.

This application contains reliable, updated, and context-specific information, as it is a database of medications circulating in Cuba with unique aspects of the National Healthcare System. The main sources of information are the National Drug Formulary (http://fnmedicamentos.sld.cu), the National Phytopharmaceutical and Apipharmaceutical Formulary (http://articulos.sld.cu/ecimed/?s=apifarmacos), the FitoMed website (http://www.sld.cu/servicios/medicamentos/temas.php?idv=1777), and other applications developed for the same purpose.

Guía Farma allows you to:

• Search for medications alphabetically, by pharmacological category, presentation, and risks.
• Search for medicinal plants alphabetically and by pharmacological action.
• Option to search for a medication by scanning its barcode (Please note that some drugs may not have their barcode registered in the application).
• Save favorites for quick reference to frequently consulted medications and plants.
• Export drug profiles for consultation in PDF or print format.
• Dark mode for easier information viewing.
