The application offers a sophisticated Augmented Reality (AR) feature that allows users to visualize various maps as three-dimensional terrain models. Previously known as AR 3D Map or Map Camera AR, the app presents several key functionalities:

- Covers most topographical maps from the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI) along with various other mapping options.
- Equipped with AR capabilities to accurately reconstruct terrain using high-resolution data, enabling 3D representation of all available maps for exploration from any angle.
- Simultaneous viewing of the same terrain and models on multiple smartphones creates a shared experience as though participants are observing a physical model placed on a table.
- Displays additional data, such as GPS track records and points overlaid on models, including the complete Tokyo Metro map.
- Incorporates GPS functionality to show the user’s current location.
- Includes features for capturing still images and videos within the AR environment.
- Supports people occlusion technology on devices equipped with A12 chips and later running iOS 13 or above.
- Facilitates 3D visualization of buildings.
- Compatible with iOS 14 widgets.
For troubleshooting or inquiries, users can access the support page and contact via the designated button at the bottom. Note that certain devices, such as Wi-Fi models of iPads and iPods, do not have GPS capability, which may affect location accuracy. Users are advised to verify if their devices support this function.
1. Available Maps
The application primarily utilizes various maps provided by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI), including:
- Super Terrain Data (annual subscription required)
- A variety of GSI maps (standard, light-colored, blank maps, anaglyphs)
- GSI aerial photographs
- Aerial photographs for disaster response from GSI
- Thematic maps (land condition maps)
- Basic volcanic maps (detailed topographical representations)
- Volcanic land condition maps (topographical classification)
- Lakes and swamp maps (useful for fishing modulates such as depth)
- Areas of population concentration H22 (locations suitable for drone activity)
- Flood risk and river surrounding detail classification maps
- Urban active fault maps (displays positions of active faults)
- Land use classification diagrams
- Apple Maps
- Google Maps
- OpenStreetMap
- A red three-dimensional representation developed by Asia Air Survey Co., Ltd., known for its clarity in terrain depiction.
- Hazard maps indicating risks related to floods, landslides, and steep slope areas (further additions planned).
2. AR Display Functionality
The application enables high-definition 3D terrain display through AR. All available maps except Google Maps can be viewed in this mode, including urban fault diagrams and aerial photos. Users can align map orientation with their actual surroundings. Utilizing ARKit technology allows users to perceive a tactile sense of physical presence with the terrain model as it can be viewed from multiple vantage points.
3. Shared Viewing for Multiple Users
Starting from iOS 12, the application supports multi-user functionality where several smartphones can share and view the same terrain model collectively. The experience is akin to observing a real topographical model displayed on a table. Users can display pointers while explaining features to others in real-time.
4. Model Display Capabilities
The app allows users to overlay various models on top of the terrain model. Among those included are integrated models like the "Tokyo Metro All-Line Map" and shared points/tracks imported from other applications like "Super Terrain." It is particularly effective for visualizing flight paths or drone trajectories, where height information is crucial.
5. Custom Map Functionality
The application supports mapping using KMZ format files compatible with Google Earth. Users can create custom maps by cropping images or sources from PC software like Kashmir 3D for projections or AR usage even for large-scale maps. Integration with projection mapping techniques is also possible.
6. GPS Functionality
Your device's GPS capabilities allow location tracking to be displayed directly on the map interface. The app retains location functionality even without signal reception, indicating user position on both standard and AR views of the 3D map.
7. Image and Video Capture Features
This application allows for still images and video captures of the AR interface.
8. Accessing Super Terrain Data (Subscription Fee)
- Fees: SEO-annually charged at 600 JPY/year.
- Trial Period: Users can try the application free for three days post-installation; thereafter access to Super Terrain Data will be restricted unless a purchase is made.
- Restoration during Device Change:: Previous purchase information can be restored at no charge during device transitions following specific steps outlined in-app settings.
Please note:
- Cancellations via methods other than in-app purchasing are not supported for those who opted for in-app subscription fees.
- No cancellation requests are accepted once the year has begun.

Upon first launch, users will be prompted to enable location services; permission should be granted accordingly. Continuous use of AR and GPS features may lead to increased battery consumption; carrying an extra power bank is advisable in such cases where devices serve emergency contacts.
