On February 22, 2020, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that they will be reverting back to using the 100 civics test questions from the 2008 version.

Applicants before March 1, 2021, can use either the 128-question version from 2020 or the 100-question version from 2008 for their test.

Starting from March 1, 2021, USCIS will only use the 100 civics test questions from the 2008 version for the naturalization exam.

On April 19, 2021, the 2020 version of the test questions will no longer be valid.
