The Three Character Classic

The Three Character Classic, Trimetric Classic, or San Zi Jing is a renowned Chinese literary work believed to have originated in the 13th century during the Song dynasty. While traditionally not classified among the six Confucian classics, it stands as a significant representation of Confucian ideals tailored for educating young minds. In previous centuries, it served as a fundamental component of early home education, fostering literacy and moral instruction through its rhythmic triplets of characters.
