The story of "Xuan-Yuan Sword Fourth: Skyblaze Chronicles" takes place 150 years before "Xuan-Yuan Sword Fourth," during China's Sui Dynasty. The survivors of Chen Kingdom mourned the destruction of their homeland and gathered tens of thousands of troops in 601 AD to rebel and restore their country. The Emperor of Sui immediately ordered the suppression of the rebellion, but what surprised the rebels of Chen Kingdom was that the imperial suppression force consisted of less than twenty soldiers, led by a ten-year-old boy! This mysterious boy wearing a cloak used a mysterious "Golden Sword" to annihilate the rebel army of Chen Kingdom with just one strike, reducing them to ashes. The reputation of this invincible boy and his legendary golden sword "Xuan-Yuan Sword" spread far and wide, making everyone tremble in fear, and no one dared to rebel against the empire again.

Sixteen years later, during the reign of Emperor Yang of Sui, the male protagonist, Chen Jingchou, set out on a journey to find the five ancient artifacts that were said to exist in the Central Plains according to his master's orders. Chen Jingchou is a descendant of Chen Kingdom. When the Sui Dynasty was searching for survivors of Chen Kingdom, his master sacrificed his own grandson to save Chen Jingchou.
