The application provides streamlined access to a curated selection of original news content from the Czech News Agency (CTK), which is continuously updated and published on www.ceskenoviny.cz. The articles are enriched with photographs and videos, enhancing the informational value. Sharing options include email, Facebook, and Twitter.

The latest January 2024 update introduces a contemporary user interface, simplified navigation, and customizable notifications for selected news topics, aiming to improve overall user engagement.

Press releases are accessible through the Protext service, offering an immediate overview of all communications issued by CTK. The Specials section features exclusive articles, highlights, and supplementary content across various themes.

Navigation controls include a menu located at the top right, allowing users to switch between News and Specials categories and manage cookie settings. CTK clients have direct access to the CTK Infobank within this menu.

News alerts are customizable; activating notifications by tapping the bell icon within a topic section will inform users of new articles related to that subject, even when the app is inactive. It is important to note that the Main News section aggregates top stories from other sections, which may lead to overlapping notifications if multiple alert options are enabled.

The display mode offers a dark mode configuration for enhanced reading comfort, selectable via an icon with three options: light mode, automatic (based on system settings), and dark mode.

The photo gallery supports intuitive browsing through images by swiping left or right. Tapping on photo descriptions toggles their visibility, while enlarging images can be accomplished by pinching outward with two fingers. Double-tapping restores the full image view.

Navigation between sections and detailed news content is facilitated through swipe gestures or via links in the top navigation bar. Switching between articles within a section can be achieved by horizontal swipes, and section headings can be scrolled through by swiping along the top menu. Pulling down the message list refreshes its content. The system back button should be used to return to previous pages.
