Máquina de Sílabas 2.02

Máquina de Sílabas is an educational tool designed to enhance phonological awareness and reading skills by blending individual sounds into syllables in Spanish. This skill development is appropriate for children aged 3 to 7 years. The game can serve as engaging supplementary practice for typically developing children, those participating in Response to Intervention (RTI) programs, as well as children facing learning challenges. It was developed by a bilingual reading teacher and a speech and language pathologist with expertise in bilingual education.

How is it played?

This intuitive game can be used independently by the child or with guidance from a professional or parent. The user is prompted to select a consonant gear from the available options and place it into the syllable machine. The machine then combines the chosen consonant with a randomly selected vowel to produce a syllable, which is displayed inside a bubble for the child to read. When the child taps on the bubble, it audibly pronounces the syllable, providing immediate feedback that reinforces correct blending or offers correction if needed. Throughout gameplay, visual animations and sounds serve as motivational cues to maintain engagement and encourage further practice with syllables.
