The Korean-Korean-Chinese version refers to the 1961 revised Korean Bible based on the entire Bible translation (1938). It was widely used by Protestants before the Revised Version appeared and was also used by the General Assembly of Korea before the Joint Translation Scriptures were introduced.

Q: In the New Testament of the Bible, there are parts that read (missing), why is this so?

In Matthew 17:21, when you look up this verse, instead of the actual text, there is a parenthesis with “21 missing” written inside. There is a directive to see footnote 1. Following footnote 1 reveals, “In some copies, 21 [except by prayer and fasting] is included.” This is an addition taken from Mark 9:29 in later copies.

The same happens with Luke 18:11, where instead of the actual text, it says "In some copies, 11 [The Son of Man came to seek and save the lost] is included." This is an addition taken from Luke 19:10 in later manuscripts.

The parts marked as "-verse missing" are text not found in ancient manuscripts. These texts are only found in lowercase manuscripts from around the 11th century. The numbering of verses was added through copies from around the 11th century which resulted in markings such as "-verse missing" indicating texts that were not present in ancient manuscripts. The manuscripts from around the 11th century are expanded copies containing material not from other sources but relevant verses within the Bible. Therefore, by examining the additional text present in footnotes marked "-verse missing," one can easily identify that these are not unfamiliar texts.
