R Mail is a free mail service app for customers who have contracted with Rakuten Mobile (NTT DoCoMo/AU lines). It provides the domain "@rakuten.jp".

※ As of June 1st, 2021 (Tuesday), the service name of "Rakuten Mail" has been changed. Only the service name has been changed, and there are no changes to the current service content you are using. In addition, you can continue to use your existing email settings without any changes.

※ There is an issue of error occurring when logging into Gmail from the R Mail app. We are currently investigating the cause. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. We will notify you again once the issue is resolved.

Main Features:

• You can choose between a simple folder mode and a convenient chat mode.
• Earn Rakuten Points by completing missions in "Rakuten Reward".
• We have pursued user-friendly operation and eliminated complexity in account settings.
• You can easily manage emails from other email services you already use (Yahoo, Gmail, Outlook, Goo mail, Nifty, iCloud, Hotmail, AOL, etc.).
• You can use familiar "emojis" and "decomail" from traditional mobile phones for free.

Setup:

To use multiple email services in one mailer, press "Add new account" from the account selection menu of R Mail app and enter the mail server settings provided by each company. You can use up to 5 email accounts simultaneously.

How to Use:

1. Register your preferred email address at Rakuten Mobile Members Station.
2. Install this app. It is compatible with Android OS version 5.0 and later.
3. Open the installed R Mail app and enter the email address and password you registered in step 1.

Usage Conditions:

R Mail app is available for customers who have contracted with Rakuten Mobile SIM and use smartphones with Android OS version 5.0 or later.

Please Note:

• The initial password for using R Mail is set to be the same as the one used for logging into Members Station. If you want to change the password for R Mail, please do so through "Change password for free email address" in Rakuten Mobile Members Station. Please note that even if you change the login password for Members Station after starting to use R Mail, the password for R Mail will not be changed.
• We have received reports from customers using R Mail that they are not receiving notifications (push notifications) properly. In the following cases, there may be delays or no notifications at all. If necessary, please adjust the settings on your device accordingly:
  1) If background communication is restricted through OS settings, you will not receive new notification alerts in the background.
  2) If the device's power saving mode restricts communication from background apps, you will not receive new notification alerts.
  3) If force closing background apps using task killer apps or similar, you will not be able to launch the app in the background and receive new notification alerts. In any of these cases, allowing background communication for Rakuten Mail will improve the execution of push notifications.
