June 04, 2008 - Keeping a PC's software constantly updated is the primary purpose of the UpdateStar freeware, protecting you against security problems or system crashes caused by outdated software. The newly released version 2.2 offers additional import and export functionality for complete software setups. You can now easily export your complete favorite software setup for backup reasons and easily migrate your software setup. The UpdateStar website additionally offers free downloads of UpdateStar Packs. These recommended software setups include top-rated freeware essentials.
You may back up your individual software setup partially or completely. The UpdateStar program export list can be used later on on the same PC or when migrating to a new PC in order to easily restore the software application setup that you are familiar with. Your own optimized software setup can also be recommended and given to friends, for example.
You can now also add notes for each program within the program's details section. This can be especially useful when adding license information and exporting these notes together with the program list for backup purposes.
