December 21, 2007 - Within the first three months since its initial release in September 2007 UpdateStar has so far gained a user base of 50,000 users. The UpdateStar software project, launched in Berlin, Germany, uses this growing user base to make sure it keeps software setups bang up-to-date.
Users need no longer miss out on updates of their favourite programs and can avoid security problems or system crashes caused by outdated software. As well as reducing a PC’s level of vulnerability, UpdateStar enhances the "Add or Remove Programs" experience by offering up-to-date information about the users’ individual software setup.
UpdateStar aims to become the predominant source for individual software updates and software information, keeping the user’s software constantly up-to-date and the PC secure. UpdateStar currently recognizes over 80,000 software products with 350,000 different product version specifications. The database is refreshed several times a day and thanks to the thousands of user submissions from the UpdateStar client base, the UpdateStar database now contains an increasingly precise range to benefit all users.
